Where BIGVU and OwlPrompter differ
From the two listings only — we have not tested BIGVU.
- BIGVU highlights an “AI eye contact fix” that adjusts your gaze in the video afterwards; OwlPrompter has AI eye contact on iPhone and iPad, and an eye-contact mode that holds the scroll while you turn away during the take.
- Both put captions in the video: BIGVU lists subtitles and automatic captions, OwlPrompter burns captions in (Pro) and writes an .srt with every take.
- BIGVU sells two subscription tiers; OwlPrompter has a free tier with no watermark, plus Pro and OwlPrompter AI subscriptions.
- BIGVU is on the App Store and Google Play; OwlPrompter is on both, plus the Mac App Store.
What OwlPrompter does, in full, is on the features page. In its own words, BIGVU highlights: Positions itself for “social media, education, corporate communication, or content marketing”; Subtitles and automatic captions alongside the teleprompter; “AI eye contact fix” among its Pro features, which adjusts your gaze in the video. We have not run BIGVU through the same tests, so this page does not claim what it can or cannot do. If you already use it and it works for you, that is a fine reason to keep it. Questions people ask
How do OwlPrompter and BIGVU compare on price?
We don’t quote prices on this site, ours or theirs: they change by store and country, and we can’t keep them accurate. BIGVU’s current prices are on the US App Store listing; OwlPrompter’s are in the app, and its free tier, with no watermark, costs nothing.
Does OwlPrompter need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no sync. Scripts and recordings stay on your device, and eye-contact mode and Delivery Score run there too. The optional AI features on iPhone and iPad upload only what you start them on.
