AI eye contact · iPhone and iPad
Read your script. Look at the lens anyway.
Every teleprompter has the same tell: your eyes sit a little below the camera, reading. AI eye contact fixes it after you record — it turns your gaze back to the lens and saves the result as a new take, so you can read every word and still look your audience in the eye.
Part of OwlPrompter AI. The yearly plan’s free trial includes one eye-contact video of up to 3 minutes.
How it works
Three steps, and your original is never touched
-
Record while you read
Use the prompter as usual — voice scroll keeps the words where your eyes are. Read naturally; don’t force your gaze to the lens.
-
Fix eye contact in the Studio
Open the take, choose Eye contact and see the cost first (5 credits a minute). You can leave the app while it works; it tells you when it’s done.
-
Keep the take you like
The corrected video arrives as a new take, “· Eye contact”, next to your original. Add AI captions to it, trim it and export.
Pair it with voice scroll, which keeps the line you are reading right under the camera, and the correction has less to do.
What it is good at
Made for talking-head videos
- Reels, Shorts, TikToks and YouTube intros read from a script
- Course lessons, product demos and sales videos
- Portrait or landscape takes up to 10 minutes, with your original sound
- Chain AI captions after it and get one finished video
Honest limits
What affects the result
Results depend on lighting, framing and head movement. Turning your head far away, glasses with strong reflections and dim rooms make the correction less convincing. It works on takes recorded in OwlPrompter on iPhone and iPad — not on Android yet, and not on videos imported from other apps. Eye contact runs on NVIDIA Maxine on GPU servers in the cloud, so it needs a connection.
Privacy
Your take, for this fix only
Nothing leaves your phone until you start the fix and agree to what it sends: that one take, picture and sound. It is processed in the EU/EEA, deleted as soon as the job ends (and always within 24 hours), and never used to train AI models. The corrected copy is deleted from our servers 24 hours after it is ready. Turn cloud AI off in Settings and the app goes back to working entirely on your phone. The details are in the privacy policy.
Cost
5 credits a minute
OwlPrompter AI includes 120 credits a month — about 24 minutes of eye contact, or a mix with AI captions at 1 credit a minute. Unused credits roll over up to 240, a job that fails gives its credits back, and you see the cost before you start. See pricing for the plans and credit packs.
Questions about AI eye contact
Is this the same as eye-contact mode?
No. Eye-contact mode (Pro) pauses the scroll while you look away from the camera, and runs live on your phone. AI eye contact works on a finished recording: it changes where your eyes appear to look, so the video shows you looking at the lens while you were reading.
Which plan includes it?
It is part of OwlPrompter AI (AI Monthly or AI Yearly, on iPhone and iPad), which includes 120 credits a month. Eye contact uses 5 credits per started minute of video, so 120 credits cover about 24 minutes. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial that includes one eye-contact video of up to 3 minutes. See current pricing in the app.
What happens to my video?
Nothing is uploaded until you start the fix and agree to it. The take is processed on GPU servers in the EU/EEA, deleted as soon as the job ends (and always within 24 hours), and the corrected copy is deleted 24 hours after it is ready — by then it is on your phone. Neither is used to train AI models.
Does it look right on every take?
Not always. Results depend on lighting, framing and head movement: big head turns, looking far off to the side, some glasses and dim light make the result less convincing. Your original take is always kept, so you can compare and keep the one you prefer.
Does it work on Android or on videos from other apps?
Not yet. AI eye contact is in the iPhone and iPad app and works on takes recorded in OwlPrompter, up to 10 minutes long.
